Winnie The Pooh On Doing Nothing

January 18, 2018

Today is Winnie The Pooh Day. It was National Nothing Day on 16th. I was delighted at the possibility of combining both these two days, as Winnie The Pooh had a lot to say on the art or doing nothing...

“Don’t underestimate the value of Doing Nothing, of just going along, listening to all the things you can’t hear, and not bothering.”

Such inspiration! I decided to write a little poem in celebration

Do I stare or start to sing?

Twiddle thumbs or play with string?

Think a thought about a king?

It’s hard to be and do no thing.

A thought, an action, or a song

Is something I do all day long

It isn’t bad; it can’t be wrong

To do a thing that makes me strong

But I could simply listen well

See and touch and taste and smell

The why, the how of everything

But leave the things more bothering.

if you have a mind to, why not take a peek at our children's books? If you like quirky children's stories about wise bears, you might really like this one: Is The Sky Sad?
